Holmes will replace Beckham in MaxfieldFor some bizarre reason, Katie Holmes‘s fashion range is set to replace Victoria Beckham’s at a US store.

It has been claimed Los Angeles boutique Maxfield will sell Katie’s new collection Holmes and Yang, after dropping her close friend’s denim line dVb by Victoria Beckham.

A source told the New York Post, “Maxfield no longer carries dVb. It is because of poor sales.”

However, Beckham’s representative insists the exclusive boutique hasn’t stocked Victoria’s denim collection for some time: “Maxfield has not carried any dVb product for the past three seasons.” Maxfield’s representative wouldn’t say when the store dropped the fashion line.

This isn’t the first shop to stop stocking Victoria’s designs.

Last February, it was reported the dVb denim range had been dropped by US store Saks Fifth Avenue.

The retailer was the first to stock the 35-year-old star’s line of jeans, but was said to be upset at Victoria’s decision to sell her high-end dresses through competitor Bergdorf Goodman.

A source said at the time: “Saks dropped Victoria Beckham’s line and will not reorder more. They were offended when she sold her dress line to Bergdorf’s and not to Saks, even though Saks launched her denim line in their New York store.”

Last year, leading stores Henri Bendel and Kitson dropped the dVb line.
