Items Du Jour: Linda’s New Moschino Ad, DVF and Google

Robyn Lawley+ Linda Evangelista fronts a very 90's-esque Moschino's latest ad campaign shot by Steven Meisel.

+ Google is really trying to make Google Glass happen, so they've enlisted Diane Von Fursternberg to help them do so.

+ In case you already haven't seen Rihanna's CFDA Awards Old-Hollywood-meets-Rose-McGowan's-1998-VMA dress, here are some more photos of it (or if you just want to stare at it again, just like the rest of the internet is doing).

+ Model Robyn Lawley fronts a swimsuit campaign for Swimsuits For All, an online retailer that offers flattering summer pieces for women with fuller figures. Blogger and model Gabi Fresh also appears in some of the shots!

+ Tom Ford explains at his CFDA Awards appearance why he's been a little MIA in fashion lately: his son, Jack.

Items Du Jour: Anna Cozies Up to Kendall, Heidi for New Balance

Kendall Jenner and Anna Wintour+ Although Kanye West has campaigned for his fiancee Kim Kardashian to grace the coveted cover of Vogue, it looks like her half-sister Kendall Jenner might beat her to it, as she was seen next to Anna Wintour at the Topshop show for London Fashion Week.

+ Fashion designer Tom Ford expresses his bromance for Jay-Z with his latest collection, displaying his knock-off dress version of the rapper's own Tom Ford knock-off jersey.

+ Mulberry launched some photos of Cara Delevingne modeling their latest handbag collection, which also happens to be one that was made in collaboration with her!

+ She might not be on PETA's go-to list for "I'd Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur" models anymore, but Khloe Kardashian made it clear in New York yesterday that she's still not wearing animal pelts, wearing a faux fur coat with the words "F**k Yo Fur" in red paint on the back.

Nicole Scherzinger Lining Up Fashion Range

Nicole ScherzingerNicole Scherzinger is lining up a career in fashion.

The singer is said to be close to agreeing to a deal to launch her own clothing range with British brand Missguided, and she is expected to snub a return to The X Factor but remain in the UK.

"Missguided think she could be great for the brand and fashion is something she wants to get into. Nothing has been signed for next year's X Factor and it's likely that she won't be going back, so it's a great opportunity for Nicole to venture into new areas. She wants to continue working in the UK as she loves it here and feels like an honorary Brit. She's obviously going to be continuing with her music and this will be another string to her bow," a source said.

The former Pussycat Doll is keen to put her own mark on the range, and it is expected to include "sexy, tight-fitting" designs. "Expect a lot of sexy, tight-fitting dresses and plenty of sparkles in the range. She wants to really put her stamp on it and make it Schermazing," the source added.

Items Du Jour: Britney Goes Platinum, Tyra’s War on “Plus-Size” Term

Kim Kardashian+ The Kardashian trio unveiled their latest clothing collection, which they launched in collaboration with British retailer Lipsy. Unsurprisingly, Kourtney, Kim, and Khloe model off their floral, curve-hugging dresses in the adverts for the line (perhaps it's the only way they'd be able to sell it?). Major kudos that they're not of the typical sequined and glittery New Year's Eve dress fare, but at the same time, I can't imagine women flocking to the stores (or in Americans' cases, online store) for a summery frock when they're looking for something festive.

+ Britney Spears surprised fans with a Twitter photo showcasing her new hair color: platinum blonde. Love it or leave it?

+ Tyra Banks seems to have joined Jennifer Lawrence in the war against negative body image words, claiming that she refuses to utter "plus-size," instead opting for "fiercely real." Not sure how quickly the latter will catch on, but it's a start!

Barneys Cancels Jay-Z Fundraiser Event

Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Celebrities, News, Sales

Jay-ZIs trouble brewing in Barneys and Jay-Z's fashion paradise?

The high-end retailer just announced that they will no longer be throwing a fundraising party tomorrow night to celebrate the launch of their collaboration collection with the rapper. “Due to unforeseen circumstances, the event has been canceled," read a statement from Barneys.

The news comes after Jay-Z has been pressured by fans to withhold his collection with the retail store once they properly address the racial profiling allegations against them. There is no word, however, that Jay-Z had a hand in cancelling Wednesday's party.

Proceeds of the first day's sales from Jay-Z's items and ten percent of the profits from the overall store that day are intended to go towards his Shawn Carter Foundation - the same organization to which the fundraising party was intended to benefit.

Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Fashion Designers, News, Sales

Coco Rocha in Zac PosenRemember how jealous you were when you saw Coco Rocha get married in a custom Zac Posen gown? Fortunately, the New York-based designer is finally giving us commoners the chance to be like the supermodel and say "I do" in one of his creations.

Posen will launch his first bridal collection - which includes formal attire in addition to wedding gowns - exclusively through retailer David's Bridal.

"We brainstormed for several months because we had a very successful launch with Vera [Wang]. As always, we were looking for what's next... We were talking about dramatic red-carpet movie-star kind of looks, and Zac came to mind," said Catalina Maddoz, executive vice president of merchandizing at David's Bridal.

Six wedding gowns - priced between $850-$1,350 - and five "social occasion" pieces - ranging between $195-$225 - are expected to appear at limited stores and online in February 2014.

Items Du Jour: ‘Spring Breakers’ Collection, Kim in Maternity Wear

Madonna+ This month's latest Elle cover model, Nicki Minaj did her best impression of a vapid fashion journalist humorously asking all the wrong questions to herself.

+ Madonna made a statement with her boy scouts outfit when she presented a GLAAD award to Anderson Cooper. In a nearly 12-minute long speech, the singer lashed out at the scouts organization for its gay ban.

+ Though Harmony Korine's latest film Spring Breakers doesn't even hit theaters until Friday, there has been enough buzz generated about it to get Opening Ceremony to collaborate with the filmmakers on an exclusive summer collection.

+ Kim Kardashian has been spotted in many tight-fitting outfits, despite her very pregnant state; however, the reality star was spotted at the premiere of her new movie Temptation in a chic black lace look appropriate for an expectant mother.

+ It's been rumored that Kate Upton will be covering the June issue of Vogue, which would be her first time on the front of the American fashion glossy.

Dolce and Gabbana Support Galliano’s Comeback

Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Fashion Designers

Stefano Gabbana and Domenico DolceAfter having been found guilty and charged of racist and anti-Semitic behavior, John Galliano is returning to the fashion world, and some fellow designers are offering him their support.

Shortly after Oscar de la Renta welcomed the former Dior designer into his studio, Dolce and Gabbana designers Domenico and Stefano have voiced their optimism for his comeback:

"We wish John the best of luck with his return to fashion. We’ve always been admirers of his flamboyant talent. He has been missed from the fashion scene these two years and we can’t wait to see the collection with Oscar de la Renta."

Though neither de la Renta nor Galliano have mentioned anything about a collaborative collection, it seems like the D&G pair may have spilled the beans on what would otherwise been a surprise!

+ Damien Hirst has teamed up with the Olsen twins to create a limited collection of backpacks for their label The Row. A portion of the sale of each bag will be donated to UNICEF; however, there's no word on the price yet (although the twins' last backpacks sold for $35,000-$39,000).
