Somewhat following in the steps of UK retailer Debenhams, American Eagle has launched a campaign for their Aerie brand which sees models in all their non-Photoshopped beauty.
Adding the tagline, "The girl in this photo has not been retouched. The real you is sexy. #aeriereal," to each of the images, the folks behind the Aerie Real lingerie collection are making their mark in the fight for body positivity. Fashion editor and style expert Jenny Altman joined the company "for an incredible campaign that celebrates the power and beauty of real women," explaining that "[Aerie] left everything. We left beauty marks, we left tattoos, what you see is really what you get with our campaign... They are still models, they're still gorgeous, they just look a little more like the rest of us... We're hoping to break the mold... we hope by embracing this that real girls everywhere will start to embrace their own beauty."
Heidi Klum has given up lingerie modeling.
The 40-year-old supermodel says she would no longer feel "comfortable" on a catwalk wearing only a bra and briefs: "I wouldn't model with my underwear down the runway anymore. I think I would find it a little uncomfortable, maybe. I still do photoshoots for [magazine] covers and different things or advertising stuff."
The mother of four - who split from her husband, singer Seal, in 2012 and his now in a relationship with her former bodyguard Martin Kristen - also said she is happy to get older and embrace the lines of age rather than have surgery. "I wouldn't say that I love [my crow's feet], but that's just the way it happens, right? We get wrinkles from smiling. I've never had any [cosmetic procedures]. I've been too scared, to be honest with you. I'm scared that all of a sudden you're changing too much, your face starts changing, I don't know. I would have a hard time looking in the mirror and seeing something that I'm not used to seeing. I'd be afraid," she said.
Cara Delevigne dressed as a sexy soccer player at the Victoria Secret's fashion show on Wednesday.
The 21-year-old model donned a naughty kit-inspired lingerie set as she walked down the catwalk in high-waisted shorts, a tucked in open-button shirt and a bright blue bra. Cara sported ankle-boot stilettos with knee-high socks rolled down, while she clutched a ball emblazoned with the Victoria's Secret initials.
Taylor Swift kicked off the show held in New York City with her hit "I Knew You Were Trouble," while wearing a Union Jack print mini-dress accompanied with a matching train and top hat, which were splattered with paint. Lily Aldridge, Karlie Kloss, Jourdan Dunn, Lily Donaldson, Erin Heatherton and Candice Swanepoel also graced the catwalk in lingerie, which tied in with the themes of Snow Angels, Shipwrecked, Parisian Nights, Pink Network and Birds of Paradise.

The now 54-year-old singer donned the garment - which also features peppermint bugle beads, with clustered sequins and beads at cups and hip line - during her performance of "Hanky Panky" and "Now I'm Following You" at the Olympic Stadium in Barcelona on August 1, 1990.
A black Lycra two-piece, which she wore while performing her 1990 hit "Vogue" in the stadium, is expected to go for up to $19,000 in the sale of pop culture items. From walking runways to starring in ad campaigns, Pamela Anderson is now offering her own retail range.
The blonde icon has teamed up with lingerie manufacturing company Secrets in Lace to create a hosiery collection, which is called the Pamela Couture Collection.
"This collaboration is the perfect match, as Pamela Anderson exudes sex appeal, and her stocking line is no exception. She knows how to play up her assets; this line exemplifies just that," said a company spokesperson.
The stockings - which can be purchased at SecretsInLace.com - retail from $29 to $39.
While she still looks amazing in her stockings, Pamela recently revealed she doesn't feel the need to undergo plastic surgery in the hope of "chasing youth." The 44-year-old - who had a breast enlargement operation when she was 22 after appearing on the cover of Playboy magazine - admitted while she has had silicone implants, she would rather age naturally when it came to her face
Model-turned-television star Heidi Klum is quitting Victoria’s Secret.
The supermodel has been at the lingerie giant for 13 years but has now announced she is hanging up her angel wings and won’t be strutting down the runway in the annual November show.
“All good things have to come to an end. I will always love Victoria’s Secret. It has been an absolutely amazing time.”
In 2002, Heidi became the “Head Angel” and amazed everyone last year when she posed in her underwear at the show just five weeks after giving birth to her fourth child. Other Victoria’s Secret Angels include Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
Heidi recently admitted she has got a “sell-by date” and said there are only certain campaigns she will sign up to now because the rest are more suited to younger girls: “Models have a sell-by date. There are certain jobs I don’t do anymore, like the young, sexy, cute things for teenagers, or even 25-year-old girls. I go in a different bracket now.”
Elle Macpherson admits that she really loves underwear.
The supermodel, whose lingerie line Elle Macpherson Intimates is the biggest-selling range in the UK and her native Australia, says she has is obsessed with matching lingerie sets as she believes they are essential to looking good.
“It’s a real fetish for me, always has been. You name it, I have it. I have more than 50 sets of lingerie. Good lingerie really changes the shape of your body under clothes so your hips, waist and breasts look the best they can. It’s the underpinning of everything. And it’s just beautiful to put on a matching set of lingerie. You feel beautiful and sexy.”
The 47-year-old beauty also says she doesn’t worry about getting old because it’s something she can’t do anything about: “I can’t stop time. I just feel really appreciative that I’m so strong and healthy. I ran this morning for six miles, I do yoga and waterski and I’m nearly 50. My body’s fared me well.”
The French fashion designer whose cone bra Madonna has made iconic, Jean Paul Gaultier, is finally returning to lingerie after nearly twenty years.
This time, Gaultier is teaming up with lingerie brand La Perla to create 27 high-end pieces (check out two more images after the jump!) due in stores this November. In addition to a waist-cinching corset, he’s looking to his famous cone bra for the line’s inspiration!
“I met Jean Paul Gaultier a few months ago, and we immediately hit it off because we shared a common vision of beauty, style, taste and quality. So we agreed to try this adventure together and unite our savoir faire,” ,” said La Perla CEO Alain Prost.
Two limited-edition pieces from the line are rumored to appear in Gaultier’s couture show on July 7.
