Kim Kardashian Targeted By PETA Over Fur Fashion

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, News

Kim KardashianKim Kardashian has been targeted by PETA in the organization's latest anti-fur campaign. The animal rights group (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) has singled out the 31-year-old socialite in a new print poster which depicts two scared looking fox cubs accompanied by the strap line, "Kim: These babies miss their mother. Is she on your back?"

The reality TV star is being targeted by PETA because she regularly dons fur garments, despite having spoken to the pressure group about the cruel methods in which animals are slaughtered for their pelts.

"Kim knows that animals on fur farms are beaten, electrocuted, and often skinned alive. We've explained it to her, and she's watched a video expose that was filmed inside fur farms. When Kim is ready to put an end to her relationship with fur, PETA will be happy to take her discards and donate them to the homeless," said PETA senior vice-president Lisa Lange.

Christian Serratos in PETA ad

And to think, Taylor Lautner was getting tired of being shirtless.

Christian Serratos might not be one of the big names from the Twilight series, but she’s going to be a lot more memorable now. (Maybe that was her point.)

The actress, who plays Angela in the adaptations, is just one of many stars who have stripped down for PETA’s famous “Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur” campaign. Other celebrities who have contributed their bodies to the cause include Karina Smirnoff, Steve-O, Khloe Kardashian and Joanna Krupa.

In case you have a hard time

First Lady twins won't wear fur

Animal lovers in both France and the states (and hopefully the world) have much to rejoice for this week, as both first ladies and Carla Bruni-Sarkozy have officially pledged to kick all of the fur out of their closets.

First was Sarkozy, whose wardrobe was directly spotlighted when a letter from PETA U.S. was leaked to the Associated Press.

Slightly irked by the all-too convenient leak, Sarkozy wrote to Dan Matthews, senior vice president of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals U.S.:
