Corinne Day shot one of Kate Moss's most iconic campaigns

Much like Donatella Versace, British retail chain Topshop is feeling charitable lately, calling upon its shoppers to help Corinne Day battle cancer. The famed photographer has captured some of Kate Moss’s most iconic images, including her infamous Vogue photo shoot in the ‘90s.

Teaming up with Premier Model Management, the two forces are attempting to raise the $164,000 needed for Day’s treatment. Apparently, all they’re asking of you is a text (“moss”) to 60777—the message costs roughly $1.60, with 40% of each one sent going to the charity.

Anna Wintour Feels Sorry For Designers

Anna Wintour with Marc JacobsFirst she proves that she laughs, now Anna Wintour says that she feels sorry for upcoming fashion designers.

The Vogue editor, who is regarded as one of the most influential voices in the fashion world, empathizes with new stylists and designers because the fashion market is currently swamped with impressive talent.

“Now is not an easy time to start as a young designer—unless you are very special and dedicated, and not afraid of hard work.”

The magazine chief says that upcoming designers must question their determination and longevity before committing to a fashion career, as it is growing increasingly difficult to become an established name in the industry.

“Talent is obviously important. But you need someone with personality, too, someone who is willing to listen. A designer really needs to spend five or 10 years learning the craft, learning the business. Sometimes you can get someone who has become a huge star overnight, but it is so rare that it works. Sometimes a lack of understanding, a certain naivety about the business can be refreshing, but it so often doesn’t work. People can get carried away with what is new and young and different, but unless you are someone like Marc Jacobs, you should think long and hard. So many are struggling.”

Nick Knight Joins Naomi Campbell in Fighting Industry Racism

Nick Knight photograph of Naomi CampbellNick Knight thinks that the fashion industry is racist.

The photographer claims the profession is geared towards white models and is unhappy that some industry professionals are reluctant to work with black models.

“I’ve always I’ve always found the fashion industry to be extremely racist, to the point that I don’t know how they get away with it. When I first started I couldn’t believe what I was hearing, ‘We can’t have a black model—they’re not aspirational.’ You can’t say that!”

Supermodel Naomi Campbell agrees with Nick, previously claiming she wasn’t given as much work as other models because of her skin color.

Speaking about Naomi’s anger, Nick said, “Talk to Naomi and she’s f***ing incandescent with rage that she’s not on the cover of Vogue. She puts it down to racism.”

Naomi, who has been on the cover of British Vogue eight times, has previously spoken about racism in the fashion industry.

Alex Perry Loves What He Does

Alex Perry loves making custom outfits for clientsAlex Perry is addicted to dressing famous people.

The Australian designer has styled some of the world’s most beautiful women, including Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, and Elle Macpherson, and says that his first experience was everything he’d ever dreamed of.

“The first time I dressed Elle Macpherson, I thought I was going to die. Then I was like a crack addict, and I thought, ‘Right! Who can I dress next?’ I had one tear sheet in Vogue and I thought, ‘You know what? Kill me now. I am so fabulous!’ “

Despite being a hugely successful and in-demand designer, Alex always insists on fitting every custom-made dress himself because he feels he gives it that extra edge: “It sounds minor, but I’ll make it half an inch tighter. I’ll make it half an inch lower. I can make you look that extra size smaller.”

Alex added he doesn’t care what people think of him and never lets negative comments from others get to him: “You’re gay, you’re fat, you’re thin, you’re an a**hole, you’re not talented, you rip off Valentino. I’ll give you a list if you like. I don’t know those people, and I don’t care. I know what I do, and I know who I am, and what people say really doesn’t affect me.”

Lily Cole Wants More Color

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Health & Beauty, Models

Lily Cole wants color in her legsShe might love her curves, but Lily Cole hates her “mottled purple” legs.

The red-haired model would love to have a natural tan, but admits that bronzed limbs might look strange teamed with her pale face and tresses.

“I would like better coloration on my legs. A permanent olive, perhaps—although that might be a bit extreme with my coloring. But I would definitely like a little less of that English, mottled purple thing that makes it necessary to wear tights all the time.”

Lily’s big modeling break came in 2003, when she starred in Italian Vogue. Her slim physique was widely commented upon, forcing her mother to deny rumors she was too thin, but she has been sporting a seemingly fuller figure of late.

“Yes, actually if you had asked me a few years ago what I would change about my appearance I would have wished for boobs—but I got those!” the 21 year-old said.

The model-turned-actress has grown to love her unusual appearance, but admits she was not always so happy to stand out from the crowd: “When I was younger. I can’t remember what it was specifically—my height, my hair or just features I didn’t like. I was like most teenagers. I wanted to look more conventional—to just be the pretty girl in school.”

Rihanna Goes Topless For Vogue

Rihanna on Italian VogueRihanna has posed topless for Italian Vogue.

The “Umbrella” singer has taken part in a raunchy photo shoot with famed fashion photographer Steven Klein for the magazine’s annual couture supplement.

The Grace Jones-inspired cover of the special publication sees the star clad in a structural feathered Valentino gown and patent knee-high boots, throwing a bucket of water at the camera. Inside, the daring pictures see the “S.O.S.” star clad in just skimpy pants, with glitter covering her chest. Other images show her in a Madonna-style conical bra, and another has her donning a sharp-shouldered jacket teemed with just lace knickers and suspenders and boots.

The Barbados-born beauty’s hair also dazzles in the pictures, sculpted into a range of high quiffs and cones, teamed with dramatic dark eye make-up and deep red lips.

Most of the pictures have been shot in black and white, with a lone color photograph depicting her wearing a turquoise dress and boots.
