Elizabeth Hurley Admits Maintaining Beauty is Hard
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, Health & Beauty, Models
Former model and actress Elizabeth Hurley admits it’s harder to look good as you get older.
The 44-year-old, who hosted Harper’s Bazaar‘s “Fabulous At Every Age” party in New York last Thursday, says it’s important for women over a certain age to spend more time on their appearance as they need to make more effort to look stunning.
“When you’re older, you have to have your hair cut regularly, you have to pluck your eyebrows regularly, you have to stay slim, and you have to exercise more. So if you don’t give up, you stand out more.”
The Estée Lauder beauty also denied she had undergone plastic surgery to maintain her looks: “Don’t be ridiculous, I look so much more than that and, no, no surgery, not yet. I really don’t have a beauty regime. The only thing I do - obviously - is pluck my eyebrows because I would look like Denis Healey if I didn’t. There is a huge change in your metabolism after 40, and for the first time ever I am having to watch what I eat because I’m quite greedy by nature.”

Tom Ford on Verge of Designing Womenswear
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Fashion Designers, News, Rumors, Women
Tom Ford says that he will release a womenswear collection when he finds the time and money.
The former Gucci and YSL designer is keen to have a female range, but admits he is waiting for the appropriate funding: “Financing is extremely expensive right now, so if we find financing in the right situation we’ll be able to start a women’s collection soon. If we don’t, we may have to wait a while. You know it will take me 18 months when I start, because I have to hire the team, find the factories, put everything together and then get the stores ready so there’s a place for these clothes.”
The 48-year-old also revealed sales of his menswear collection are doing very well: “Things are getting better every day in most places. So I’m optimistic and this is something that I plan on doing for the next 30 years of my life, so if I have to wait another six months or a year (to launch women’s) it’s ok.”
Amber Rose Represents Real Women
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Celebrities, Health & Beauty, Models, News, Rumors, Women
Ever wonder what kind of conversation model Amber Rose had with Ford Models when they signed her? Well, now we don’t have to wonder so much—Rose dished some tidbits at the Elle Women in Hollywood Awards.
“I told them, Don’t ask me to grow out my hair or lose any weight. I want to represent real women who have curves.”
Right, because real women can pull off the shaved head look! So what about those tattoos?
Well, she revealed to blogger Elizabeth Snead that she promised Ford to not get any more ink done—until her contract is up, that is.
Oh Amber Rose—you’re so rebellious! No wonder Kanye West loves you so much. Much unlike Kanye, however, Rose has a sense of humor. When host Alec Baldwin jokingly alluded to her boyfriend’s infamous VMA incident, the runway model giggled a bit.
As if anyone can resist Mr. Baldwin’s charm…

Karl Lagerfeld Defends Thin Models
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Fashion Designers, Fashion Shows, Health & Beauty, Models, News, Women
Living fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld has blasted “fat mummies” for their attitudes against skinny models.
The 71-year-old Chanel designer criticized Brigitte magazine’s announcement that they will only use “ordinary, realistic” models in future, insisting that people prefer looking at slim women and the “absurd” decision was driven by overweight women who did not want to be reminded of their body problems.
“These are fat mummies sitting with their bags of crisps in front of the television, saying that thin models are ugly. Fashion is all about dreams and illusions, and no one wants to see round women.”
Another designer, John Ribbe, has also spoken out, saying the row over models’ weight is becoming hysterical: “It’s just as much a cliche as saying that all models take drugs and get drunk at sex orgies. Ninety per cent of them are quite normal, properly proportioned girls with less fat and more muscles who also eat pizzas and burgers.”
Brigitte are planning to release their first edition with non-professional models on January 2nd and are urging readers to sign up for photo sessions, saying that they are tired of having to “fatten up” pictures. Editor Andrea Lebert said, “We will show women that have their own identity—the 18-year-old A-level student, the company chairwoman, the musician, the footballer.”
Victoria Beckham Talks Eating Disorder Rumors

Usually one to keep her cool and ignore the petulant rumors regarding her weight, Victoria Beckham is finally speaking out after a whirlwind of photographs of her at London Fashion Week surfaced, fueling the topic yet again.
“I am fine—happy and healthy. It’s irresponsible when people obsess about my shape and size. I appreciate there are young girls and women who look at me as a role model and it is untrue to say I do not eat and I am unhealthy.”
Still not convinced? The well-received fashion designer points out several things in her life that she wouldn’t have the ability to pursue had she truly not been in good health: “I have a healthy diet, a healthy lifestyle and plenty of energy to run after my three energetic boys and travel the world managing my fashion business.”
Girl power!

And it starts with the idea of deconstructing construction to reconstructed.”
And you should hear what Michael Kors had to say about a certain pet peeve…

Emma Watson Designs Line For People Tree
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, Fashion Designers, News, Men, Women
Let’s face it, an Emma Watson clothing range was always in the works ever since magazines and Karl Lagerfeld took the fashionista under their wing. It has finally arrived—and it’s an ethical one, too!
The Harry Potter actress has teamed up with People Tree for the new collection, which is aimed at people aged 16 to 24.
“I was excited by the idea of using fashion as a tool to alleviate poverty and knew it was something I could help make a difference with. I think young people like me are becoming increasingly aware of the humanitarian and environmental issues surrounding fast fashion and want to make good choices but there aren’t many options out there.”
Emma, who is the face of Burberry, has taken on the role of creative advisor for the new line (Lindsay Lohan?), which comprises cotton skirts, T-shirts, jersey garments and jewelery.
She tried to inject some of her own personal style into the pieces and used her favorite locations, including South France, London, and music festivals, as inspiration.
There are 26 women’s pieces and 15 men’s looks in the range, which is largely made from organic and fairly traded cotton. The collection is handmade by fair trade groups and helps people make money in Bangladesh, India, and Nepal.

Cure to Muffin Top in the Works
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Health & Beauty, News, Women

There is hope for us all! Cosmetic surgeon expert Patrick Mallucci claims that there is a non-invasive treatment to cure muffin top—the extra rolls of fat that poke out over women’s jeans and skirts.
While most surgeons have cut small incisions for liposuction in the area, Mallucci has developed “superficial” liposuction to remove the stubborn fat. The procedure is only done on the superficial layer of fat (where all the fat is stored in the higher areas of skin), so as to reduce trauma and bruising.

Anna Paquin Blasts Fashion Pressure
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, Health & Beauty, Models, Women
Nudity embracer Anna Paquin “feels bad” for women who don’t dress for their body shape.
The True Blood actress thinks that there is too much pressure on girls to wear fashionable clothes, meaning many resort to donning items which don’t suit them.
“I feel so bad for women who beat themselves up trying to wear clothes that aren’t really cut for bodies. Some women have those very straight, narrow boy bodies, but most of us don’t. Fashion should be about finding clothes that look right on your body. I want to say, ‘You know what? It’s not you. There’s nothing wrong with your body. This just wasn’t cut with a body in mind, at least not a real woman’s body.’”
Anna, 27, underwent a dramatic makeover for her role in the vampire series. She dyed her hair blonde, covered herself in fake tan and increased the amount of exercise she does as her character, Sookie Stackhouse, is often found in skimpy outfits.
She explained to British Elle, “I could write a guide-book to spray-tanning! I have a lady who comes to my house to spray me once a week. My job involves small outfits and being naked all the time, so I tend to exercise more now! But the costume designers were amazing—so loving in the way they took all our clothes away from us.”
Pregnant Jourdan Dunn Will Sit Out This Season
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Fashion Shows, Models, Rumors, Women

Thanks to the comp card that was included in her agency’s show package, a flurry of rumors circled around a very 5-month pregnant Jourdan Dunn and whether or not she would be gracing the catwalks anytime soon.
A representative from Women in New York has cleared up the matter and has confirmed that the 19 year-old model will not be working this season.
Dubbed last year’s Model of the Year at the British Fashion Awards, Dunn is due this December.
